  My husband and I recently closed escrow on a property sale with this company and it was both extremely and unnecessarily stressful. Over a six week escrow period, I received the names, but often not the title of, five different people from the company. It seemed each interaction was with a different person. Throughout our lives we have bought and sold property in three different states but never experienced such unprofessional behavior by the escrow officer, Phyllis Strosser. With only several days notice - that covered a holiday weekend - prior to our scheduled closing, First American Title notified us by email of forms that needed to be completed as a condition of closing by our tax preparer - who lives in another city. At closing, the escrow officer was not able to give us any information regarding the forms that would assist us in making our decision - a decision that had a financial impact on us. Even though Ms. Strosser admitted we should have received the forms by mail several weeks earlier with time to more fully understand their implications, she offered the excuses of having been on vacation and the fact that the company was extremely busy. While both of these excuses were true, she offered no understanding or solutions to alleviate our stress and seemed frustrated with our concerns and reluctance to make a decision within the time frame of our scheduled appointment. She closed our meeting by saying "You can stay here in this room and discuss what you want to do for as long as you want but I have another meeting to go to.". We then had a one day window to change the choice we made by putting out an emergency call to our CPA. Fortunately, he was able to respond to us, provide guidance, and alleviate our concerns. At the very least, Ms. Strosser could benefit from customer relations training. Her harsh, unprofessional manner and defensive rationales for errors made by the company could be used in training sessions. As retired professionals, we feel it important to share our thoughts so that your company might benefit from more positive interactions in the future.

  They are very dismissive and every time I called them the secretary dispatches me to an agent and it always goes to voicemail and you have to continuously call before they answer you. When they were supposed to send me my package of information they sent me my neighbors.

  Not impressed with this title company. I would shop around next time. They were a tad dismissive. They forgot to give us copies of the docs that we signed before we left. When I called about it I was told it by an assistant, it "depends on the team you worked with", if they give you copies. So pick your team well! I can't think of a time before when I've had to ask for copies of docs after signing. Maybe that's a new thing. They overlooked a discount, I believe it was a title search, which was in the time frame of it still being current. Luckily my Husband caught that one at the brokers office. They are not a bad company, we have used them before, but they were off their game.
